Folk Songs About Pizza
Austin Lounge Lizards - Pizza on the Ground
Saffire Uppity Blues Women - Cold Pizza & Warm Beer
Christine Lavin - Cold Pizza for Breakfast
Chenille Sisters - Pizza Deliverance
Pizza is mentioned in Pete Seeger's "All Mixed Up," which has also
been recorded by Peter, Paul and Mary (on, I think, their "Flowers
and Stones" album).
Tom Paxton - The Pizza that Ate Chicago
J Geils Band - No Anchovies Please
Dean Martin - That's Amore
You could also consider a tune from "The Pizza Tapes," the CD by
David Grisman, Tony Rice, and Jerry Garcia, so named because
(supposedly) a pizza delivery guy stole a cassette of the original
sessions from one of the participants' kitchen table, and it
circulated for years as a bootleg until Grisman decided to put it out
officially.
Jane Kelly Williams - Pizza Man
Dick Biondi - On Top of a Pizza
Jennifer Marks' cd Pizza
Suni Paz - Pizza Pizza Daddy O
I also scored dozens of albums with John or Bucky PIZZArelli, but forget them.
John Hiatt - Perfectly Good Pizza
How 'bout Van Morrison - Domino?
Peter Alsop - I am a Pizza
Well, it ain't folk, never mind bluegrass, but there's always "Patzo
for Pizza" by the Gaylords, a pop vocal group, probably from
Philadelphia, who were among the worst of the worst. In fact, "Patzo
for Pizza" is on my "Le Bad" list. They issued this record as a 78 on
Mercury in 1954, just when pizza pie was becoming popular among
non-Italian Americans. "Crazy, crazy, crazy, patzo, patzo for my
pizza"
I seem to recall mention of pizza joints in Ellis Paul's "Look at the
Wind Blow..."
David Roth - Two for One in Podunk Town
Bill Harley - Pizza Shake
-Mike Yuhas
