Vegetarian Restaurants in Duluth, Minnesota
It can be hard to find veggie food in the Northland. My mother's
family is from here, and we go every so often.
Folk music can be found on the local university station, KUMD 103.3 FM.
Here are the eateries that I've found so far.
Thanks for additional information to
Carla Blumberg,
Harvey Tjader,
Richard Adkins, and
Bruno Vegan.

Some veggie sandwiches and wraps are on the menu. Also, they have
acoustic music there many evenings. (RG)

- Hacienda Del Sol,
319 East Superior Street, 218/722-7296
Hacienda del Sol, mentioned in Richard Adkins email, does have a few vegetarian
meals and their menu says their refried beans contain no animal fat. It's a
delightfully bright, energetic and popular place, one of my favorites. (HT)
- The Scenic Cafe,

Fresh baked breads, and gourmet coffees/etc....
Don't be fooled by the looks from the hwy... (RA)
-
Amazing Grace Bakery and Café,
394 Lake Ave. South (lower level of the DeWitt-Seitz Marketplace in Canal Park),
tel# 218/723-1399.
Live folk music, internet access, lots of goodies to eat.
- India Palace,
319 W Superior St, 218-727-8767.
The best veg friendly restaurant in Duluth may be India Palace on
Superior Street. They opened last summer and have several veg entrees,
plus the bread & chutney appetizers are great. The luncheon
all-you-can-eat for about $7 features 2-3 veg items also. I live about
50 miles south of Duluth (in Bruno, MN) and it's my favorite place to
eat when I get up there. Of course, the two Vietnamese restaurants (one
in Stone Ridge Mall and the other in DeWitt-Seitz Marketplace) are also
pretty good. (BV)
- Louis' Cafe and Restaurant,
1500 London Road, 218-728-4370.
They have a section of the menu devoted to Greek
food, including a few vegetarian choices.
Atmosphere is like Denny's. (RG)
Richard Adkins did a bunch of internet surfing and found
