AE/DC/MC/V/ Cloquet, MNt...is west of Duluth...on the way to Hibbing... you'll see the turn off from the interstate before getting to Duluth driving up from Minneapolis... Since there really is nothing to do up in north contry but fool around...and no place to go to in a hurry....unless it would be snowmobiling or ice-sailing...a side trip over to Cloquet would be nice... Cloquet Coffee House 6 N 14th Street says they have vegetarian...but what? You northerners'll jus' hav' ta get out more... Also....what about Thai Krathong 114 West First Street Duluth 218.733.9774 Thai Krathong has the distinction of being the area's only option for fans of Thai cuisine. Wouldn't there be some "jey/ jay" food there? or "ahan mangsawirat"... (vegetarian)... Jay is stricter...If the chef is Thai, they'll know... I'll bet they can make you a "pad thai" without fish sauce/crab past or meat ...substitute tofu also, a Gaeng Keo Wan Jay Tao hoo (sweet green curry w/tofu, vegetarian)...this one is great and has coconut milk in it... I have found that Thai and Vietnamese places will substitue Tofu for meat and leave out the meat broths/or sauces, using soy sauce instead... they usually come up with something delicious...just ask... >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> India Palace 319 West Superior Street Duluth 218.727.8767 Duluth's only Indian restaurant offers the area a welcome ethnic alternative to the usual fare of steak, Chinese, and Italian. It offers a variety of dishes for all tastes, from lamb to vegetarian and from mild to spicy. The ice cream is homemadeŻa definite plus. >>>>>>>>>>>> Whole Foods Co-op Deli 1332 East Fourth Street Duluth 218.728.0884 Not many people are aware of this local lunch option. For about $3.50, the Co-op packs a tasty, healthy sandwich, organic chips and a pickle. Complement the meal with some fresh fruit and organic juice, and you have a well-rounded lunch. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Most mexican places have bean buritos, etc...but is there pork fat in 'em? Hacienda Del Sol 319 East Superior Street Duluth 218.722.7296 Bellisio's Italian Restaurant 405 South Lake Avenue Duluth 218.727.4921 While, as its name suggests, the menu at Bellisio's features Italian cuisine, its extensive wine list boasts great bottles from all over the world. The food is consistently good, and the wine flights offer a great opportunity to sample a variety of vintages. While the menu is a bit pricey compared to other local restaurants, they serve enormous portions, so try splitting an appetizer, salad and main entree with a friend for a delicious and filling dinner. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> North of 2 Harbours ...on HWY1...(which goes up to Ely, and the famous Boundary Waters Canoe Area) http://www.nationalforestlodge.com/accommodation.htm can accomodate vegetarians Well..that's about all the surfin' I can do for one day...
